1958 Flying Scot
About
Made in Glasgow this bike was a perfect choice for my Glaswegian wife.
I found the frame online – it was avocado in color. I tried to work with that but it was a no go! I consulted my Scottish father-in-law and we quickly decided it would/should be blue. I had it sprayed by a local frame builder but did the head tube and the lining myself. The decals are thin vinyl and were ordered from hlloyd.com.
My wife rode the bike with drop handlebars but we decided she would be more comfortable with some flat portuer handlebars.
A number of parts were sourced from an old Raleigh, the hammered fenders and the final portuer handlebars from veloorange.com.
